Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica was one of the first conservation districts in the City of Dallas. It was created after a two year effort to preserve the architectural integrity, and thus the value of the homes. Many of the area homes were built in the Tudor style before World War II. Additional styles include Spanish Eclectic, French Eclectic, Minimal Traditional, Craftsman, Monterrey, and two rare examples of the flatroofed Pueblo Revival style. This neighborhood consists primarily of young families and is an off the beaten path, hidden gem. Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica has a charming, quaint quality inherent to the Tudor historic homes which populate the area. Similar in feel to the “M” Streets minus the Greenville Avenue scene, this neighborhood is more reserved and quiet with lovely rolling hills.
Lindsley Park is also located in this neighborhood. Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica is a wonderful place to call home, and is close to White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical gardens and the popular Lakewood neighborhood. The residents are served by Lakewood Elementary, J. L. Long Middle School and Woodrow Wilson High School.
